RIGHT TO SEARCH

To protect the business and maintain a high level of vigilance we reserve the right to inspect employee’s clothing, personal belongings, vehicles, lockers or workstation at any time.

You may be asked to make yourself and your personal effects available for inspection on request. In doing so, we will ensure that we maintain our value of respect for people. Consent to such a search will always be sought. However, failure to agree to such a request may lead to formal disciplinary action being taken.

A request will only be made by a member of the management team. Anyone asked to undergo a search may, on request have a fellow employee present and ask for the search to be carried out in private. Personal effects searches will only be carried out by members of the same sex.

If we have reasonable grounds to believe a criminal activity has taken place we may contact the police to assist in the search.
