THE PLATINUM MOTOR GROUP ACQUIRES AKS RENAULT & DACIA IN YEOVIL

The Directors of the Trowbridge based Platinum Motor Group (Renrod Ltd) are delighted to announce the acquisition of A.K.S. Renault/Dacia in Yeovil, which was completed on Monday 6th June.

The Platinum and A.K.S. market areas (the postcodes for which we are responsible) are adjoined, so following the takeover, the Platinum Group will operate a larger continuous territory and will rename the business as Platinum Renault/Dacia (Yeovil), which will give provide marketing and communication advantages, and the ability to share resources and knowledge.

Jeremy Cuff, Joint Managing Director of the Platinum Motor Group said, “Our original discussions with regard the acquisition of A.K.S. started around a year ago, when we were asked if we’d be interested in expanding our Renault representation. Our interest in doing so then led to a more specific discussion with the team at Renault UK, who informed us that Anton K. Szulc, the owner of A.K.S, was looking to retire. We therefore began our dialogue with Anton in the Autumn of 2021, which has subsequently led to our takeover of the business.”

“The A.K.S. business is long established in the Yeovil market area for the Renault and Dacia brands, which under Anton’s leadership and in conjunction with his dealership team, is a business that is respected locally and within Renault UK, serving a great many customers and one that is well-known for providing an excellent service. With Anton’s decision to retire, it is now our task to ensure that the good work and reputation of the business is maintained into the future.”

“On behalf of the entire Platinum Motor Group, I’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome the A.K.S. dealership team members into the Platinum Motor Group, and look forward to working with everyone going forwards.”

Retiring owner and Managing Director Anton Szulc said, “After a lot of research the Platinum Motor Group was the perfect fit for all the A.K.S team members and customers going forward for the future.”

We’d also like to take this opportunity to wish Anton a long and happy retirement.
