10th October 2022

Dear Team Members,

World Mental Health Day 2022

"Making mental health & well-being for all a global priority..."

In recognition of World Mental Health day, we thought it useful and appropriate that we share some of our own views on this most topical of subjects...

When we talk about mental health, we are talking about how we as people think and feel, and how we are coping with things that are happening in our lives.  Mental health is something that can affect everyone, just like our physical health.

World Mental Health Day is now an annual event, and for this year, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has chosen the theme of "Making Mental Health & Well-Being for All a Global Priority."

As contained within our recent communications to you,  we're all very much aware that things in the world remain turbulent and unsettled at the moment, and allied to this, the aim of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and most crucially, to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.

Closer to home, many of us may have personal pressures and challenges of our own, and sometimes we all need the support and understanding of those around us.  As a Family-owned business, we encourage each and every one of you to look out for one another and be mindful of anyone who may be struggling or be in need of some additional support.

Please see attached an information sheet that may be of help if having conversations with colleagues and friends, whether you or they, are worried about aspects of mental health. Should you yourself need someone to talk to, or require support, please do remember our WeCare programme (see information attached) which is completely free and confidential, is available 24/7, and offers access to UK based GPs and face-to-face counsellors where appropriate.

Furthermore, please do speak to your Manager or to HR in confidence, who may be able to help or assist with accessing appropriate additional help and support.
To find out more about the WHO and World Mental Health Day, please use the following link https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-mental-health-day.  You will also find information and resources to help you personally manage your well-being and mental health.

We hope that this will be useful to you, and that this message may help us all to navigate the rapids of the turbulent times in which we're all living.

Yours sincerely
