THE PLATINUM MOTOR GROUP TO ACQUIRE AKS RENAULT & DACIA IN YEOVIL - A Team Member Announcement
Dear Team Members,
The Directors of the Platinum Motor Group are delighted to announce the imminent acquisition of A.K.S. Renault/Dacia in Yeovil.
The takeover is scheduled to happen on Monday 6th June, unless any late issues delay things slightly (we will inform everyone should this be the case).
Our original discussions with regard to this takeover started around a year ago, when we were asked if we'd be interested in expanding our Renault representation. Our interest in doing so then led to a more specific discussion with the Dealer Development team at Renault UK, who informed us that Anton Szulc, the owner of A.K.S, was looking to retire and that we were the preferred candidate.
We therefore began our dialogue with Anton in the Autumn of 2021, which has subsequently led to our takeover of the business. Originally, we planned to complete the acquisition by the end of March, but some complications connected to the premises meant that our takeover had to be postponed whilst we worked on a solution in conjunction with Anton.
The Platinum and A.K.S. market areas (the postcodes for which we are responsible) are adjoined, so following the takeover, we will operate a larger continuous territory.
Shortly after the takeover, we will rename the business as Platinum Renault/Dacia (Yeovil), which will give us marketing and communication advantages, and the ability to share resources.
We'd also like to take this opportunity to welcome the A.K.S. dealership team to the Platinum Group, and ask that those who will work directly with them over the coming weeks and months offer as much assistance, encouragement and friendship as possible, as we integrate the business into the group.
