Road Fund Licences from October 1st 2014
As you will be aware, there are fundamental changes to vehicle Road Fund Licencing commencing on 1st October 2014. What this means in essence is that the tax is longer linked to the vehicle, but linked to the registered keeper.
Part Exchange Vehicles/Vehicle Purchases
As a result of these changes, the company will no longer benefit from any remaining time on a Road Fund Licence as it will not be transferable.
This is because once a vehicle is taken in as a Part Exchange/Purchase by the company, the benefit of any unexpired time will cease to be available to us, and will instead be refundable to the previous registered keeper.
Taxed Demonstrators
If you are currently stocking any Demonstrators off-road but with Road Fund Licence remaining, please ensure that the appropriate refunds are obtained as it will no longer be possible to transfer this to the new registered keeper when the vehicle is sold.
Communicating This Change
Please ensure all appropriate team members are made aware of these changes.
Other Thoughts?
Should you have any additional thoughts and feedback about this topic, please make us aware so that we can ensure the group deals with this change in the best possible way.
