HOURS OF WORK
It appears from recent
events that a culture of flexible working hours is creeping
into certain Aftersales Departments. May I remind you
of your contractual obligation that All Managers are expected
to be in attendance during the core hours of their department,
these are 8.00am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday and Saturdays
on a rota basis 8.00am to 1.00pm. Monday to Friday all
Managers are entitled to and are encouraged to take a
lunch break of one hour, this must be taken at the designated
times of either 12.00pm - 1.00pm or 1.00pm - 2.00pm. A
lunch hour cannot be used to alter the start and finish
time of a working day.
I appreciate that some
Managers start and finish their working day outside these
core hours; this is sometimes a necessary requirement
of our Company Managers to complete their job responsibilities.
Further information on working hours can be found in the
Company Handbook within your department or can be viewed
on the ‘Info Central’ website. Please contact
me directly if you wish to discuss your working hours
further. Hours of Work within Aftersales Departments.
All Managers are reminded
that as a Company we do not operate flexible working hours
within our Aftersales operations for Service, Parts &
Bodyshop personnel without the expressed permission in
writing from the Board of Directors via the HR Department.
You are reminded that
all employees must attend the hours as stated in their
Contracts of Employment and take their breaks at the correct
designated times. Employees can not work their breaks
to alter the start and finishing times of their working
day without the permission of their Line Manager and this
is strictly limited to emergencies only.
Any questions
please call Mark Greenfield, Group After Sales Director.
