Subject: Lloyds Fraudulent Call

Afternoon all

We have this afternoon received a call from someone pretending to be from Lloyds saying that someone has attempted a telephone banking payment at lunchtime for £18,123 to Global Economy Ltd.

After being passed through to 2 other people they advised that they had stopped the payment and suspended my payment access and that I would need to login to a website to reinstate my payment ability.

The website was Lloyds Bank Reinstate which then asks you to log in.  The page did not look the same although very close.  I refused to log in and put them through to Nick who also said the call was suspicious and the guy hung up!

In the meantime, I called Lloyds Fraud Dept who advised that they have had many of these calls over the last 3 weeks.  The fraudster asks you to log in to the requested screen and then this gives them access to your log in details and take over your computer.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SPEAK TO THESE PEOPLE – HANG UP AND CALL THE FRAUD DEPT ON 0800 169 1296 – Provide them with AS MUCH detail as you can, and they will add it to their ever-growing list to try to stop and identify where this is coming from.

If you are unsure AT ALL please air on the side of caution and just hang up.

Please let Nick know if you experience any of these calls in the first instance.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,
